Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is the use of purposeful activity or interventions to promote health and achieve functional outcomes.  Achieving functional outcomes means to develop, improve, or restore an individual’s highest possible level of independence.  OTs assess an individual’s functional performance within different environments to identify the individual’s strength’s and limitations.  I Can Too’s OTs may use a variety of different treatment approaches to assist in each child’s progress incuding but not limited to Sensory integration Therapy, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Wilbarger’s Thera-pressure Protocol, Handwriting Without Tears, HANDLE, Kawar Vestibular-Ocular Protocol, Oral Motor and Feeding approaches, and Therapeutic Listening.  Our OTs have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Hypotonicity, Sensory processing Dysfunction/Integration Disorders, Pre-term birth, Pre-natal drug/alcohol exposure, Oral Motor/Feeding Difficulties, Traumatic Brain Injury, Genetic Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Low Vision/Visual Impairments, Torticollis, Dyspraxia, Seizure Disorders, etc.  Occupational Therapy can be delivered in a variety of settings including but not limited to our on site facility, home based, community, etc.  If you are interested in our OT services please contact us.
