RDI© is a Parent Training program. The RDI© Consultant works with parents to help them deepen their relationship with their child, while encouraging cognitive and developmental growth. The program is organized into a series of customizable developmental steps so that any parent can learn to become an effective guide at their own pace. The Consultant’s work centers on helping parents create the physical, mental, emotional and communicative space for guided participation. Producing cognitive growth for the apprentice includes: examining and modifying parents’ communication, developing necessary limits and boundaries, and creating opportunities in daily activities for guided participation. With the help of the Consultant, parents learn to re-think their daily lifestyle to provide safe but challenging opportunities for minfdul growth and relationship.
